Hello there!
Welcome to the blog of a resident of the (Historic) hudson valley. The starting point of the journey is Kykuit the country estate of the Rockefeller family (and also the inspiration for the name of the blog) a site now owned by The National Historic Trust. But I hope to invite other hudson valley adventurers to chime in with their contributions of information, happy experiences and other musings about the towns and cities on the banks of the Hudson River.
Kykuit is dutch for ‘look out’ and I’ve used the verb form as my friend Marc of The Netherlands taught me. I hope that “looking out” on the Hudson River and from its cities and towns will inspire my blog’s visitors to join me in being mindful of, and reflecting on all of the beauty -of any kind -that surrounds us.
